 WHO WE ARE

The purpose and intent of the PMSIG is to serve and support current and prospective future practice owners in achieving their goals and thriving. This will be accomplished by:

  • Identifying the inherent challenges and difficulties New Jersey private practices face in starting and scaling, including the steep learning curve of a very complex ever-changing healthcare system, stagnating and declining reimbursement rates, staffing shortage due to professional attrition, and rapidly increasing overhead costs.

  • Discussing as a group, crowd-sourced both internal and external solutions that practice owners and their staff can implement to enhance their ability to serve their community without compromise and ensure a successful future professionally and financially.

WHAT WE OFFER

The PMSIG will:

  • Provide an area of support and programming for practice owners regarding topics specific to managing and growing a practice. Some examples include: ○ Financial wellness for practices ○ Effective hiring and staffing strategies ○ Navigating regulatory challenges ○ Preventing practice burnout
  • Plan social opportunities for involvement and networking purposes for practice owners.
  • Foster leadership, advocacy, volunteer service, and involvement within the practice management community.
  • Educate practice owners about the APTANJ and APTA national, and encourage involvement within both organizations.
  • Create and empower cycles of leadership and encourage practice owners to prepare for leadership roles within APTA, both locally and nationally, as well as within the overall physical therapy community.
  • Create opportunities for mentorship.

INTERESTED IN MENTORSHIP?

The APTANJ Mentorship Program is a networking and professional development service designed to create a pathway for those who are seeking clinical and professional mentorship, to connect with experienced members, who have made themselves available for guidance and support. The program is open to all APTANJ members and can benefit clinicians at all stages of experience -- from students and new grads to experienced therapists who may be transitioning practice settings, moving to new professional roles, or simply looking to expand their knowledge.
