Who we are

The purpose and intent of the EP SIG is to serve and support physical therapists and physical therapist assistants who are transitioning from being students to licensed and practicing professionals in the state of New Jersey. This group acts as a resource to individuals as they work through school, search for jobs, and begin their early careers in the field of physical therapy.

What we offer

The EP SIG will:

  • Provide an area of support and programming for EPs and students regarding topics specific to individuals at the beginning of their career. Some examples include:
    • Financial wellness
    • Smart interviewing and job search
    • Discovering career path options
    • Preventing burnout
  • Plan social opportunities for involvement and networking purposes for EPs and students.
  • Foster leadership, advocacy, volunteer service, and involvement.
  • Educate EPs about the APTANJ and APTA national, and encourage involvement within both organizations.
  • Create and empower cycles of leadership and encourage students and new clinicians to prepare for leadership roles within APTA, both locally and nationally, as well as within the overall physical therapy community.
  • Create opportunities for mentorship.

Interested in Mentorship?

The APTANJ Mentorship Program is now live!!

The program is a networking and professional development service designed to create a pathway for those who are seeking clinical and professional mentorship, to connect with experienced members, who have made themselves available for guidance and support. The program is open to all APTANJ members and can benefit clinicians at all stages of experience -- from students and new grads to experienced therapists who may be transitioning practice settings, moving to new professional roles, or simply looking to expand their knowledge.
