IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING HORIZON AND ASH PARTNERSHIP

APTANJ is pleased to report that at 9:15 am this morning, Horizon BCBSNJ announced that they will not launch their Chiropractic & Physical Medicine Services Program in partnership with American Specialty Health (ASH) effective January 1, 2020.  The new program which was announced at the beginning of August required the approval of the New Jersey Department of Banking & Insurance (NJ DOBI) before it could take effect and be implemented.  According to Horizon BCBSNJ, NJ DOBI ruled that “the Program, as submitted, did not satisfy all of the regulatory requirements necessary for approval.”

APTANJ is pleased with NJ DOBI’s response.  Moving forward, we will continue our dialogue with Horizon BCBSNJ’s leadership in a productive and positive manner to make sure that New Jerseyans have full access to their physical therapy benefit.
