In today’s treatment settings, the physical therapist and physical therapist assistant encounter ethical decisions throughout the day. Within the Physical Therapist’s scope of practice, awareness, proper evaluation, and interpretation of specific situations become an essential tool.

This course offering will cover in-depth, the evaluation, interpretation and decision-making process of ethical situations, utilizing some of the most widely respected and professionally supported methods.

As vision 2020 set forward by the APTA approaches and as providers of choice, we have to strive to continue to show a moral obligation to act within the highest of ethical standards. By providing a thorough framework of awareness, acknowledgment, and interpretation, through both lecture and open discussion, this course offering will prepare the entry-level practitioner for consistent and positive decision making. It will also challenge the experienced clinician to expand their awareness with a multifaceted approach in ethical situations.

Lastly, to satisfy the New Jersey Board of Physical Therapy Examiners’ Continuing Education hours, this Ethics course will give practicing PT's and PTA's a 2.5-hour evidence-based course.
