Naloxone Training for the Physical Therapist

hosted by APTANJ in partnership with JSAS HealthCare

Training begins at 7:00 PM

On June 11th, 2019 the APTA House of Delegates passed RC 62-19 Adopt: Naloxone Availability Where Physical Therapist Services are Provided, which states:

The American Physical Therapy Association supports physical therapy services having naloxone accessible to be administered to reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, in accordance with recommendations from the Surgeon General of the United States.

With the rampant opioid usage and some physicians recommending to patients to “take pain medication before therapy,” is your clinic prepared for a possible overdose? This 1-hour course will review the signs and symptoms of overdose, the effect of Fentanyl in overdose and the indications for naloxone administration. Each participant will receive one free naloxone kit.
