A review of the physiology of medical marijuana and cannabidiols. This course will also touch upon a brief history of cannabis in medicine, the differences between cannabis and hemp products, the current legal state, FDA regulation and its issues, uses in medicine, and its relevance to the physical therapy sector.

Betsy A. B. Greenleaf, DO, FACOOG

Dr. Betsy A. B. Greenleaf, DO, FACOOG is a 1998 University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine graduate. She has extensive surgical experience having trained in general surgery prior to gynecology and urogynecology. She is the first female board certified physician in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in the nation and the first physician in the state of New Jersey.   


As a member of the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology she helped in the development of the board certification in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery and currently acts as a board examiner. She is involved with multiple organizations and numerous research projects aimed at the advancement of female pelvic health.


Dr. Greenleaf has been a spokesperson for the American Osteopathic Association for matters of female health. Her quotes have appeared in numerous magazines.


She holds a patent and is co-inventor for the Endosage pelvic physical therapy device.  She is the president of Metrodora Medical Solutions LLC, medical consulting, training  and laser services.  She is the president of The Pelvic Floor Store (, an on-line resource for pelvic floor products.


Dr. Greenleaf is currently studying towards her Masters in Business Administration at the Fox School of Business, at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.


Dr. Greenleaf specializes in the evaluation and treatment of prolapse, incontinence and urinary urgency/frequency.  Her added interest include pain conditions such as pelvic pain, vaginal pain, vaginismus (spasming of the vagina), interstitial cystitis, chronic cystitis, chronic vaginitis, and dyspareunia (pain with intercourse).


She takes a holistic approach to medicine focusing on the whole person and  integrating traditional medicine with natural and alternative treatments.
