The Postpartum Abdominal Wall (2CEs)

DRA (Diastasis Rectus Abdominus) is a hot topic on social media and making sense of the information can be confusing. This webinar will provide some of the newest evidence and interventions for the postpartum abdominal wall. Breathing patterns, exercise, support and nutrition will all be presented in this 2 hour discussion.

 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this presentation the learner will be able to

1) Describe the role of the deep abdominal muscles change in recruitment patterns following child birth.

2)  Design an intervention program using breath, exercise, support and nutrition for improving the abdominal wall function.

Susan C. Clinton, PT, DScPT, OCS, WCS, COMT, FAAOMPT

Susan, a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Manual Therapy, Orthopedics and Women's Health, is the co-owner and founder of Embody Physiotherapy and Wellness,  LLC in Sewickley, PennsylvaniaShe has been actively treating patients with pelvic floor, urinary, bowel, reproductive, oncology, persistent pain, sports injuries and post-surgical diagnoses. Susan is active in teaching and research as an adjunct instructor for the University of Pittsburgh, Chatham University and Slippery Rock University. Additionally, she is an international instructor and presenter of post-professional  education in  women's health and orthopedic manual therapy.
